Electronic waste or ewaste describes discarded electrical or electronic devices. Used electronics that are destined for refurbishment, reuse, resale, salvage recycling through material recovery, or disposal are also considered ewaste. The informal processing of ewaste in developing countries can lead to adverse human health effects and environmental pollution. In India, the Rules related to Ewaste Management were introduced in 2011 and later revised in 2016 which is currently followed.
The Ewaste management rules 2016 instructs the Producers to engage in Extended Producer Responsibility. Thus PRO’s like Residuos Recycling have stepped up to ensure ethical and safe disposal of Ewaste.
